Rich, moody tones meet luxurious softness in this exclusive 50/50 Cormo Alpaca blend, sourced totally from local farmers and spun for us in Ohio. The Cormo comes from the Westfield Woolies, with shepherdess Ruth caring for her flock and producing super fine wool. The alpaca comes from Heritage Farms in Flora, Indiana, an alpaca farm long known for their prize-winning alpaca herd.
The naturally gray undyed base creates deeper, more sophisticated colorways than traditional yarn bases—perfect for knitters seeking understated elegance.
The yarn is a 2-ply sport weight, approximately 200 yards per skein. It is buttery, incredibly soft, and with wonderful elasticity and stitch definition from the Cormo and shine from the alpaca. It is perfect for next to skin garments.
Why we chose this yarn: Color Me Happy is the foundational brand for Flax & Fiber Yarn Collective. Owners Michelle and Linda, with help from Sarah, naturally dye fibers and yarn in their studio located in Michelle’s backyard just up the road here in Fishers. They strive to operate in a sustainable way that honors the earth and our community, including harvesting dye materials whenever possible from plants grown in Linda’s backyard and the studio garden.
