Color Me Happy - Back Home Again - 80/20 Cormo/Alpaca
Details
This luxurious 2-ply yarn is made from fiber of Cormo sheep raised by Westfield Woolies (Westfield, Indiana) and fiber from Suri Alpaca raised by Heritage Farm Alpacas (Flora, Indiana). The blend is 80% Cormo/20% Suri, giving it more sheen and drape than the pure Cormo. This is technically sport weight, with approximately 200 yds/80g, but knits up like a DK because of the fluffy Cormo.
Try a skein or two and experience the joy of making with the highest quality, local, natural fibers!
Why we chose this yarn: Color Me Happy is the foundational brand for Flax & Fiber Yarn Collective. Owners Michelle and Linda, with help from Sarah, naturally dye fibers and yarn in their studio located in Michelle’s backyard just up the road here in Fishers. They strive to operate in a sustainable way that honors the earth and our community, including harvesting dye materials whenever possible from plants grown in Linda’s backyard and the studio garden.
