Drop Spindle 101
What you’ll learn: This is a beginner-friendly class for spinning your own yarn on a drop spindle from wool. Participants only need to come with their hands and a little patience, and will leave with the tools and knowledge to spin a custom yarn themselves. This class will the beginning spindle-spinning technique called park-and-draft. This is the first class in a series for spindle spinning.
Skill level: Beginner; this course is also appropriate for wheel-spinners who are interested in learning how to use a drop spindle.
Materials: Come as you are! We will provide wool and a drop spindle as part of the course. If you already have your own drop spindle, bring it and we will refund you $12.
Duration: 1.5 hours
Instructor: Olivia Hinkel is an interdisciplinary artist and maker who has won prizes for spindle-spinning and weaving. Her love of fiber and textiles is rooted in family history and relationships, which also inspire her to share the joys and techniques of spindle-spinning whenever she can.

We understand that things come up! All class fees are non-refundable, however, they can be partially applied to a different session or a different future class.
