Details
Fresh indigo is so unique in the natural dye world—it is dyed in a cold bath from strained indigo leaf pulp and gives incredible shades of turquoise and robin’s egg blue on unmordanted fibers. Fresh indigo is also incredibly seasonal—we can only achieve these colors with fresh plants that grow during the warm summer months, so our next harvest won’t be until summer of 2027.
This experience will include indigo leaf harvesting, preparing the dye bath, and dyeing your own 100g skein of Merino/Cashmere/Nylon yarn. Choose between Fingering/Sock weight (400 yds) or DK (231 yards).
Saturday September 12th; 10:30am-12:30pm at Color Me Happy Fiber Arts Studio
