Sock Tube Cranking Service

Love handknit socks but dread knitting the long stretch of plain stockinette? Let our sock machine do the work! We’ll crank your yarn into a stockinette tube so all that’s left is the fun part: adding your cuffs, afterthought heels, and toes.

Pick out a skein of sock yarn from our shelves (or bring one from your stash), choose your size, and we’ll hand-crank it into a ready-to-finish tube with waste yarn on each end to hold your live stitches.

Pricing:

• Yarn purchased from us: $15 per tube
• Stash yarn purchased elsewhere: $25 per tube

Tube Sizes:

• 60 stitches around (approx. 7–7.5" circumference)
• 72 stitches around (approx. 8–8.5" circumference)

Gauge and circumference vary with the yarn and are not guaranteed.

Yarn Requirements:

• Fingering weight (approx. 400–437 yards per 100g skein)
• At least 50% wool (superwash wool is fine)
• One tube = one 100g skein, or two 50g skeins of the same yarn

Please Note:

• This service produces an unfinished sock tube, NOT a finished pair of socks.
• Please allow 7-10 days for your tube to be cranked. We’ll contact you when it’s ready for pickup.
