A workshop by Paige Shipley being held at Le Macaron in Fishers.
This class is a 90-minute workshop covering everything you need to know to level-up your sweater making. Concepts apply to both knit and crochet tops and sweaters. You will receive a booklet in class and 20% off your order at Le Macaron during class.
Experience Level: Anyone confident with knitting or crochet fundamentals and ready to make a well-fitting garment.
Skills Needed: Students who knit should be able to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off, while students who crochet should be comfortable with basic crochet stitches.
No Materials Needed
Skills Learned:
- Fibers, fiber families, and yarn substitution
- How to measure your body for a sweater fitting
- Common body types and simple pattern adjustments
- Tips for researching patterns and projects including catching red flags
- Gauge - what it means, what to do when you aren’t getting it and why you might not want to get gauge - complete with a math lesson
