Holiday Tree Sampler Ornaments: Beginning Embroidery
Ever wanted to try embroidery but weren’t sure where to start? In this cozy, holiday-themed class, you’ll learn the basics while stitching whimsical little trees, just in time to hang them up when you decorate for the season!
Jen will guide you through several of the most-used embroidery stitches, using each one to create a different style of tree. By the end of class, you’ll have two charming mini ornaments, plus the skills to keep stitching on your own.
The sample shows a whole forest of trees, each worked in a different stitch, from French-knot ornaments to chain-stitch trunks and lazy daisy branches. In class, you’ll pick your favorites to stitch on two mini ornaments, using thread naturally-dyed in festive holiday colors.
What You’ll Learn:
- Basic stitches including back stitch, chain stitch, and lazy daisy
- Adding sparkle with French knots
- How to combine stitches to create different trees
- How to finish the back of your hoop for a polished ornament
