Appalachian Baby Organic Cotton Yarn is made from U.S. organic cotton yarn from small farms and is spun, twisted, and dyed at family-owned mills.
Why we chose this yarn: As a LYS focusing on natural fibers and sustainability, we appreciate that Appalachian Baby Designs' Natural is dye free. For their colors, they use an eco-friendly, low impact dye process. Additionally, they source their cotton from Texas family farms that raise the cotton organically. Organic cotton represents only 1% percent of global cotton production, with the balance grown under the use of pesticides, herbicides, miticides, and petroleum-based fertilizers.
